Canderel and KingSett Capital recently acquired a parcel of land near the intersection of St. Clair Avenue West and Oakwood Avenue in Toronto’s Wychwood/St. Clair West Village neighbourhood. The land, previously owned by Main & Main Developments, has been earmarked for a new high-density luxury community.
Canderel and KingSett immediately set about hiring TACT Architecture to put together a bold new design concept for the project, which is now branded as St. Clair Village Condos. The project has also been marketed as 900 St. Clair Avenue West Condos, reflecting its future address in this popular and central Toronto district.

Wychwood is a peaceful, upscale residential area characterized by excellent schools, placid parks and green spaces, and beautiful homes. It is sometimes classified as part of a larger district known as St. Clair West Village, which includes the lively and vibrant St. Clair Avenue corridor that extends from Avenue Road to Dufferin Street, where Corso Italia begins. Recent years have seen this area explode in popularity, with a surge in residential development and municipal improvements. It retains a “town within a city” feeling, and offers every urban convenience residents could possibly need.
The proposed building site features an outstanding Walk Score of 95/100, thanks to a dense and growing collection of local restaurants, professional services, retail outlets, supermarkets, and specialty stores.
It also boasts an excellent Transit Score of 82/100, with the TTC’s 512 St. Clair streetcar route providing efficient service. Residents can walk or ride to the St Clair Village condos nearby St. Clair West TTC subway station on the University-Spadina branch of the system’s Line 1, or use the streetcar to reach the St. Clair subway station on Line 1’s Yonge branch.
Motorists are well-positioned to get around the GTA and Southern Ontario thanks to the nearby Allen Expressway entrance to the 401. This junction puts several other major area highways, including the 400, 404, and 407, within easy reach.
St. Clair West Village profiles as a trendy neighbourhood that retains a strong legacy character as a preferred destination for prosperous families and professionals. It is sophisticated but not pretentious and active but not overwhelming. The area consistently rates as one of the best parts of Toronto to live in, and it continues to enjoy very healthy rates of property appreciation.
